Attempted Business Ventures

Band Bus

Band Bus aimed to disrupt the charter bus industry by renovating decommissioned school buses into affordable, yet comfortable touring vehicles for musicians and other touring acts. By taking this approach, Band Bus can achieve the United States’ most affordable pricing point by a few hundred dollars per day.

I created this business during my sophomore year of college at Butler University. I developed a 40-page business plan with estimated P&Ls, bus maintenance, and startup funds. I gained experience pitching this idea to interested angel investors and attended the National Association of Music Merchants conference in Anaheim California to network the idea and gain survey responses in order to establish a proof of concept.

Ultimately, I decided that this business was too asset-heavy and did not play to my existing strengths. I still own the LLC but would like to pursue an option that is better suited to my strengths.

Facing Daylight

Along with entrepreneurship, I have had a lifelong passion for music. After playing in 5 bands over the course of 6 years, it was finally time for our first release. To get better acquainted with the music industry, I formed Facing Daylight, a multi-member LLC for the band. I also handled composition registration on BMI and sound recording registration on SoundExchange. Because I was orchestrating this project for my bandmates, some of who were minors, this project enhanced my coordination and problem-solving skills.
